The Season of Goodwill?

”I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year” Charles Dickens. Beautiful words spoken by the popular English novelist, its just a pity no had told the good people of Norwich!

With many cases of abuse in the past week towards taxi drivers going about our business trying to get the public home safely late at night. It was the busiest night of the year on Friday 17th December, late on after the pubs & clubs had closed taxi ranks had revellers patiently  queueing &  keeping in good spirit on a bitterly cold night.

Heavy snow & icy roads were hampering taxis from getting back quickly to the frustrated queues of people, in Tombland there is a dedicated taxi rank of which had a long queue of customers waiting. Black cab drivers are asked to pick up only from the taxi rank once entering Tombland  & ignore the queue ‘jumpers’ that were spitting  & throwing objects at us whilst driving past trying to get to the taxi rank. Along with the rude gestures being made, its a  merry Christmas to you too & as usual not a policeman insight either when you need one!

With temperatures barely above freezing in the past week & more snow & ice forecast for the coming days it will continue to make driving very difficult. Will it be a white Christmas?

Black cabs are a safer bet! Funny you tube video part 2

Until next time lets be safe out there.
