We'll post regular updates so you can get a personal view on A2B Taxis Norwich.
Promotion to the premier league will inject the local economy with millions of pounds, along with the ‘feel good’ factor much needed in the fine city of Norwich. Along with Premiership dreams comes premiership money to boost the coffers of many businesses in our region including the Norwich taxi trade.
Taxi drivers in Norwich are sick of the limited taxi rank space within the city, taxi numbers are at an all time high & growing but what is not helping is the illegal parking on taxi ranks. In this weeks taxi news for Norwich we will be posting photos of vehicles parked on our ranks & updating this thread each time we receive a new photo. With each new photo maybe it will put pressure on the authorities to do something about it, if possible put the time & date on when taking the photo.
Six months on after opening the £3.3 million scheme to bring relief to the traffic chaos at peak times has been hailed a success by taxi drivers in Norwich. Matt Fitzpatrick (pictured) said ” It has relieved traffic queues going out of the city with the one-way system, before you could be stuck for 5 – 10 minutes, our customers at A2B taxis Norwich appreciate the quicker journeys. I also live Aylsham road side of the city, so when her majesty calls I can get home promptly.” A success story & 3.3 million pounds well spent
There have been some comments aimed at Mr Streeter recently that are false and defamatory & since been removed. We would like to add that these comments are not the thoughts of A2b taxis but of some of our readers.
We apologize for any distress caused.

”We never asked for them, we never wanted them & we are glad to see the back of the marshals for a while & ticket machine too” were the words of Norwich taxi legend Tommy Gotts who was laughing all the way to the chip shop after hearing the news! Tommy (pictured with another one of A2B’s finest Alan Jolin) who voiced his displeasure in last weeks A2B Taxis news went on to say ”its a moral victory for hackney trade & public with the removal of the rip-off ticket machine & as for the marshals, they didn’t help themselves with their attitude recently something of which will take a long time to repair.”
Now, the scheme has been suspended until funding can be found and support is secured from the Hackney Trade Association. It is hoped it will be reintroduced in the future.
Inspector Edward Brown from the Norfolk Night safe Partnership said: “The taxi marshal scheme helps clubbers and party-goers get into taxis after a night out in Norwich.
